I ONLY got Cs in the professional art course (A-LEVEL) this year because of being unfamilar with the system and grading. however i also won some prestigious awards in art and some money prices. i think it is partially the teacher’s problem not explaning anything at all and grading every single homework using the level of rigorousity of the final external exam.
However, in the external art Examination so far my portfolio(boards) got an A which is the heighest score possible.
Also, getting two Cs in the semester lowers my overall grade from a 3.9 to a 3.6(and the likely final gpa just before the application is going to be just 3.7, which is comparitively low for an Asian american that is thinking about a top school). i would like to know how would this affect the overall college admission. i am definately not going to study art in the future. for me i am definitely going to study economics or engineering. seriously, i don’t really think it is gonna be that silly a damage for the admission overall, otherwise it is gonna sound ridiculous. Art itself is essentially very different from the majority of the other academic subjects. For not understanding the organization of the subject other issues, i think i am gonna explain that in the essay and try to be very honest and instrospective and i will also prove that it is not because of not having the ability or something else.

Is their still going to be a good chance for me or it is really that silly a damage? i really need this to guide me during the application. i got very high grades in other academic subjects and win lots of prestigious STEM awards and the MUNs through crazily hard work. i really don’t want this to be the problem that exclude me from my dream college.
