HELP! How will this affect my admission??

I got an email from UCIrvine two weeks ago (Jan. 05) saying that they received my application and that I can check my status at their website. I didn't really bother checking it until today --busy with schools and esp. with finals etc (BIG MISTAKE! :( ), and I found that the admission counselor has written me a msg asking about a particular class that I took (I listed under Educational Preparation Programs). I'm really worried right now because the message is dated 12/19/06, which is almost a month ago! How will the admission counselor take into consideration of my extremely late reply? :(And, should I reply with something along the lines of "I'm so sorry for the late reply"?

thank you so much for your help

You should go ahead and contact them apologizing and whatnot. You should also explain why it was so late (telling them that school was your priority = good). It shouldn't hurt your chances...

wouldn't that sound like a reallly pathetic excuse, though? "I'm sorry for the late reply -- I was busy with schoolwork."

thank you!

^^ that doesnt sound lame at all.

it should be okay, remember a good chunk of that time was vacation etc...just send in the response ASAP....

I don't think you need to state a reason WHY your were late (cause that just sounds lame). Just apologize for being late - end of story.

Alright, thanks everyone. I sent in my reply already :)

oneday, i have a question...

i applied to 3 UC schools, but I only received a confirmation email from one the UC's..is that possible?? because the application is sent to the UC Application System for ALL UC's

so, do you think i should contact the 2 other UC's that i have not received an email from yet??

yes it's possible. I only received four confirmation out of the six that I applied. If you go to the UC general thread, there's a topic about confirmation letters, and it seems no one has received everything yet. Don't worry :)

oooh okay, thanks!!
