First off, Howard is my dream school! I am a currently a senior and gathering all of my college stuff to get it all in order right now. I just took my ACT for the third time (Sept. 8th, 2012). I have not yet recieved my scores (when I get them I'll post them), but prior to this last test I recieved a 24. I need a 26 for the Legacy scholarship because I plan on applying early action. I don't know how strongly I feel about how I tested, and I don't really know if I feel like I earned a 26. However, I do feel like I improved in areas where I lacked before (Reading), but I also feel like I could've done a LOT better in other areas (Math and Science). (I am pretty confident in English, so I don't feel that it was much of a problem.)

So my question is, if I still apply to Howard Early Decision to be considered for admission and scholarships (with older ACT scores), and do get in but don't get scholarships (at that time), is it possible for me to send in other scores at a later date (after the October ACT) with a 26 or higher and still be considered for some type of scholarship before all funds have been exhausted?

Being that I’m in the Midwestern region, I take the ACT which is still accepted at Howard I’ve taken that 3 times, and I’m awaiting my score reports for the third time. I recieved a 24 the second time. I was just curious as to whether I could send my other ACT scores in after the early decision deadline (event though I’ll have already sent in my other scores to be safe) to see if I can still have a chance at a scholarship.

I understand. I know for a fact that as long as you get high enough they can reevaluate it and give you a scholarship. Just make sure you contact them and tell then you did well enough for it. Message me if you want to talk about howard some more

As a Howard student, do you recommend applying to Howard online or through the mail?

Though the application seems so much shorter online, the pro is that I will be able to view my status, however I won’t be able to supply all of the information that I wanted to send in.

The con to applying through the mail is that it will take forever and I won’t know if I was accepted until late December, but the pro is I will be able to give them all the information I wanted to supply, such as my resume with transcripts, letters of recommendation, and my essay included all together. What do you suggest??
