I really like UCI's campus. It's very modern and beautiful. I love the weather down there (i'm from sf)! The only downside to the campus is that they don't offer business for undergrads. THey offer a econ major and administration and management minors. I'm still unsure what part of business i want to go into.. maybe accounting? If i want to do that.. i will have to go to graduate school if i go to uci. Another thing is that.. there are a lot of asians. There's nothing wrong about that.. im asian myself. But i just want to go to a more diverse school.

Although I haven't gone to Cal poly's campus, I've been to San Luis Obispo. The ppl there seem very friendly. At nighttime i went to dt and saw a lot of cal poly students just hanging out. I can tell the social life is very active at cal poly. I like the small town feeling .. it's very different from the city where i live. I heard a lot of good things about Cal Poly's business. They offer accounting.. finance.. etc. I barely saw any asians there. I read somewhere that only 11% asians go to cal poly. =T not very diverse.. also.

which school has the highest employment rate for business? would a company hire someone who graduated from cal poly slo over someone who graduated from uci? i know it does depend.. such as experience and stuff. i just want to get an idea.

i chose uci over cal poly slo...i mean uci is a UC school...compared to SLO.

You don't have to major in business to get a business type of job. And if you want to go into accounting, you can go to UCI and do the accounting minor and still be able to prepare for the CPA exam. And there are also rumors that they'll be adding a business major for undergrads soon.

And even if you went to a school like SLO that has an undergrad business major, it doesn't mean that you don't have to go to grad school later. Many higher-level positions in business require an MBA, and they often don't really care about your undergrad major. They care more about your work experience.

Most of the people in my MBA class don't have undergrad degrees in business. A lot are econ majors, and a lot have majors in other things like engineering, computer science, poli sci, and the sciences (like me).

Caligurl, currently they do not offer the Business Major, however, the business major is going through the approval process. So it will be available our sophomore or junior year. So, all you really have to do is take all the classes that you need to take for the major and by your senior year you'll have a business major. I learned all about this at Explore UCI.

I completely agree alicantekid, but what i learned about UCI is that they really prepare you to go on to Grad School, so caligurl thats another thing to think about.
