I'm currently a junior taking Alg 2 / Trig. A couple of weeks ago, my math teacher told me that since I have a high average, I can skip to AP Calculus AB. She told me that she would provide me with a workbook during the summer, and that she would tutor me once school starts again. According to her, by skipping to Calculus AB I'll catch up with some of my other classmates who started high school with geometry (I started with integrated algebra, since I didn't take regents in middle school).

I'm a bit worried. I also have the choice to just take Pre-Calc and Beginning Calculus next year instead of skipping. Will this be a disadvantage with the colleges, since I'll be graduating with Pre-Calc and Beg. Calc instead of AP Calc AB? I know that AP Calculus AB would look better, but I feel as if the class is going to be extremely difficult, especially since most of the students in the class have already taken Pre-Calc and Beg. Calc. Should I just take the risk?
