Help! I don't know what the future holds for me anymore!

It's my senior year.

20 on my ACT
3.7 GPA
President of NHS
Varsity Golf
Internship with a Fortune 500 company at there HQ for about 4 months- Present
Member of Bible study.
Active volunteer around the community.
AP Student
I've been on the A Honor roll for the last 3 years.

Currently I'm finishing my senior year at a community college, because I thought if I took real college courses, it would indicate to College admissions that I will be able to handle college course work, so far I'm doing very well.

I have great recommendation letters from the CEO, a Vice-Chairman from my internship, and my teacher at school.

My major is Business in Fiance, I want to attend at the U of MN or The University of St.Thomas.

(I know it's hard to get into the U of MN Carlson Management.)

I feel like there was a ton of grade inflation at my school. All that hard work I put into maintaining a high GPA is ruined.

I'm at a dead end....

One choice is to aApply to test optional schools, your ACT is way below your GPA. Here is a list:

<a href=“ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest”>http://www.fairtest.org/university/optional</a>

Another choice is get get going on studying and retake the ACT, and maybe try the SAT. You would benefit from a prep class because your score is so low. Look into it NOW so you can have a shot at both tests this fall.

Consider test optional schools.

Did you try the SAT? Did you take the ACT a second time? How can you explain your low ACT score with your GPA and success in CC?

See above

I don’t know how to answer that.

Look at test optional schools (fairtest.org I think), and take the act again and try the sat.

Why not prep and take the SAT?

Well I’ve always tested for the ACT, and it would feel weird to prep for the SAT.

Do you want to avoid feeling weird, or do you want to get into one of the colleges you hope to attend? Neither is test optional. For U of MN-TC, the 25% - 50% range for the ACT is 26-30. So you are way down in the bottom 25% of applicants for your test scores. The range for St. Thomas is 23 - 28. So you are in the bottom 25%, but at least closer to the 25% mark. For the school to be a match, you really want your scores at the 50% mark or better. So for St. Thomas, you would want to raise it to a 25 or 26, and for U of MN, you would want a 28 or better.

Some students do better on the SAT than the ACT, That is why you are getting suggestions to try it. Right now your test scores are too low for the schools you are targeting, so if you want a chance you need to focus on getting your scores up this fall.

I’ve done timed practice ACT scores at home and I’ve done well on them.
