Help! I don't know what to do! Drop out or Stay??

Hey guys,

I am currently a winter quarter student at UCSC. I am a biology major and I got a 3.1 my first quarter. As much as I like it as UCSC, my dream school is UCSB. I have been wanting to go there all my life, however, I got waitlisted and denied last year. I decided to go to UC Santa Cruz. Unfortunately, I don't like it that much as I think I should. I have the desire to go to UC Santa Barbara. I am not sure what to do! I know that I can try to transfer to UCSB next year as a transfer from UCSC to UCSB, but if I didn't get in it would be absolutely crushing. I am not sure whether to do that or to drop out of UCSC and go to CC instead so I can get into UCSB. My main priority is getting into UCSB so I will do whatever it takes. Also, will it look bad if I leave UCSC? I am very nervous about this decision because I also want to go to medical school after my undergraduate education. Someone please help, because I do not know what to do!

Thank you

Stay. Keep at it and raise your GPA to a 3.5+ over the next semester or two, and apply again. It looks flaky to the schools if you keep changing or drop out.

STAY your doing fine, improve your gpa a bit and transfer when possible, your too good of a student to drop out.

I think you should stay. It does not matter where you go as eventually you need to apply for med school. And med school cares about your GPA + MCAT. Raise your GPA to 3.7+ and tryna score a 32+ on your MCAT, with necessary EC’s you should be competitive for MD schools.
