I'm going to attend UVa's engineering in the fall for computer science and I'm considering transferring to George Mason. Here's why: I have a serious back injury that will require surgery at some point and Mason is much closer to home so I can rehab and recover better close to home than in Charlottesville. Also, it'd save me about 40,000 in future debt to transfer. Which with an expensive surgery, isn't a bad savings. I also think I'd be happier at Mason for personal reasons. Would transferring make me lose out on too much? Or is the difference small enough to step over it? I understand UVa has a plethora of opportunities but I've heard Mason has plenty too. I need honest unbiased opinions. Last note, my spine is fractured and I have some pretty decent nerve damage. Help!!
