HELP! I failed out of college (twice) and I'm afraid no college will accept me.

When I was 17, I went to large public university right out of high school and failed my freshman year. I went to community college my sophomore year with varied results. At 19, I stopped attending college and began to work full time instead. I'm now almost 22 and I went back to school last semester. I was able to balance my full time job and 12 colleges credits- and I made the Dean's list! I would like to transfer next Spring to complete my bachelors degree, but I am terrified that no college will accept me.

Over time, I've gained maturity and perspective, and I don't believe that I was ready to go to away to school right out of high school. My family put a ton of pressure on me to graduate high school early and pushed me to attend a large university far from home, but ultimately these failures are mine alone, and I take full responsibility for my mistakes. I'm just afraid that my application will be the laughingstock of the admissions committee. I currently have a 2.3 GPA and I hope to raise that to a 2.8 by the time I graduate with my AA. Are there any colleges that would consider a student like me? I'm in FL and I wouldn't mind staying in state. I'm interested in smaller colleges, such as: New College of FL,The Evergreen State College, and Drew University.

Any suggestions for a student like me?n

Congrats on your turnaround story! The best people to advise you will be the “transfer advisers” at your community college. They love achievers like you! Good luck.
