HELP! I F'd up big time! D:

So long story short I missed taking the SAT II's. Unfortunately, about 75% of the schools I plan on applying to (BU, BC, NYU, GWU, etc) require 2 SAT subject tests for admission. I'll try not to go to far into detail, but basically a combination of procrastination and misinformation led this accident, and I feel absolutely retarded. Obviously, I thought I had a lot more time than I did. I'm currently signed up to take the regular SAT in December (Once more, procrastination at its finest - hopefully I can get my scores rushed in time for RD), as I got a 2040 on my first SAT and can expect a 2150+ on the next one. What should I do? I think it's too late to switch my regular SAT to subject tests, as the late deadline has already expired, and plus, I'm not sure if I'd even want to as I am more prepared for this SAT and hope to score well. Is there any way I can take the SAT subject tests later (like in January), and still have the scores sent to colleges before the RD deadlines? Or is there any way I can substitute the SAT II's for some other standardized tests (i.e. AP's, which I have plenty of). I am absolutely lost, and have no idea what to do. Any ideas? If not, I'll probably just have to end up applying to the colleges on my 'list' that don't require SAT II's - none of which I'm too interested in. I was really looking at BC, but now it seems I'm screwed.

Anyhow, if there is no other option, I'll probably end up going to one of my safety's and transferring after Freshman year. Does this sound realistic/like a good idea?

Thanks for any help.

Some colleges consider January test scores. If you can’t find the answer on their website, email admissions with that question. In your application, clearly state that you are scheduled to take the January SAT II tests, so they don’t think you ignored the requirement. The scores should come out 3 weeks later, so they should have them in time to make a April 1 decision.

As the previous poster said, some schools accept January scores.

I would try to switch to take the 2 in Dec if you schools don’t take January scores. A 2040 won’t keep you out if everything else is good. The biggest problem I see is if you’re looking for aid at BU and NYU. The scores matter much more if you are.

At least at the testing center I went to (most likely if its big enough), the test administrators will let you switch ti the SAT II’s on test day. Try emailing whoever runs that test center.

If possible, take the SAT II’s in December to make sure that all of your colleges receive your required SAT II’s.

Then retake SAT I in January.
