Help!! I got an "F" first 9 weeks AP lit...

Help me plz!! I got an .98 on my report card in AP lit, my only ap class!!
My courses are as follows

1- Ap english (first period)
2- Honors USH
3. Honors Analysis or functions
4. Honors Physicis
5. Guitar 1
6. French 1

I dont know what to do, Im thinking of going honors... What i have noticed is that almost everyone is failing the same class, with the same teacher (We get the hardest one :( ) IF i go honors, im not sure an collages would like to see me...
I have a 2.9 unweighted Gpa and a 3.8 Weighted....Im a computer guru, and a business wiz (starting my own very soon :D) Im not sure why i took English, i hate it with a passion.... I would have gone AP Bio and History, but i couldnt decide in time (plus i relaly liked Physics)

I have a "B" in every course but English and Guitar(which is an A).....What i am going to do is take a lot of Ap during senior to make up for all the slack.... But im not sure.... HELP ME!!!!!

A 2.9 GPA and an 'F' in a class proves that you're not going to a highly selective school. No reason to take lots of APs to make up the "slack". Just find a school that's within your range. You should probaly go to a state school where you can get some decent scholarship money.

Trying to make a comeback in your senior year is foolish and most people on this board will tell you the same. You're not going to suddenly turn things around after 3 years. You're study habits are pretty much set and seniors are already lazy to begin with. Be realistic.

Drop AP Lit, because a single class won't make a difference. It's not like you're in contention for the Ivies or a Top 25 college. Don't sweat it.

I want to look at Tunlane, and FSU, maybe UM, but its too close to home :D
The fact that i have a bad work/study habit was that during most of my academic life, i was in LD courses.... ive been in gifted/honors/ap since aabout 7th grade.... Could that be a reason? Well thats not all, i mena, i got a lot of problems ive had to go through to get this far...

If u hate it with a passion then u shouldn't take it. AP English classes requires some kind of input of interest in order to keep up with the workload.

there we go..... I soon noticed that everyone that wasnt majoring in some english related course hates the class!

same here. ap lit's just a totally bs clas for me.

taking AP language and literature are a waste of time. i didn't read a single book in either class, read cliffnotes for everything. i really learned nothing in either class and got dual 5's on the the AP tests. in fact on the literature test i actually wrote the essays in pencil and had time to go back and recopy everything i had written in pen. in fact you need to 'know' very little for either test.

I actually didn't get into AP Lit this year. I got into AP Language last year, but I didn't sign up for it. All the people who were at my level and did get in hate it and are doing poorly. So I guess my rejection was a blessing in disguise, because I probably would have signed up for it, even though I strongly dislike literature classes.

so what am i going to do...my 2.9 gpa is bad enough!!

If you have time, I'd still say drop it. Face facts that whatever grades your colleges are going to see have pretty much been made by this point, and just enjoy your senior year.

well, should i take some honors courses senior, and maybe open a book once and a while, get a lot of A's and raise my gpa up a little bit?

That sounds like a good plan.

yea a good school fo you is pry FSU,Um you have no chance, just hope you dont need 4 yrs of english to graduate, try and talk with the teacher to see if she can read your essays before you turn them in or have someone read them, like me you are pry best at creative writing but for me to get the grade i needed i took a pre ap eng class and an essay writing course through the county i was in and it helped me a lot,you cant just go to a class and think your gonna get an A without any prep, thats why its an Ap and not honoras and regular, overall my suggestions would be to switch to h. and try and get the best grades you can........

What is your numeric grade in the class? A .98? How is that possible? Did you try to do that poorly?

And no offense, but you need to shape up. If you can't pick up the pace you will never make it in college. HS is WAY easier, and anyone should be able to make at least a B or C in their sleep. Get some motivation, or your habits will turn you into a college drop out. Seriously.

if your gonna start your own buisiness soon, skip college. duh... thats the obvious solution

Don't skip college!!!!!!!!!!!! If you can pay, go!!!!! Do you have an E.C of some sort? Maybe you could self study for some AP exams. Senior year is kind of too late. Just have a nice case of senioritis, try to do something outstanding non-class wise, try your hardest and hope for the best!

Self studying for AP exams doesnt get you into college.

Does it matter that i was in LD courses most of my academic career?

Well, my interum came in, and i have a D+ so far.... I just did a project that should bump the grade up a lil....

if you're truly committed to improving your gpa, would your school allow you to repeat grade 11 and completely disregard your GPA this year? i second the poster above in suggesting that taking a prep course might be a good idea. if you don't have plans to repeat junior year or if you can't, maybe you can take a supplemental writing class this year.
