HELP! i have 1 week to decide which college to go to!! i dont know what to do!!!!

AHH!!! i have to turn in my intent to enroll in a college by may 1st! i dont know where to go. UCSC or Calpoly slo. UCSC doesn't have my major there but there was this 3/2 dual engineering degree program that i applied for but didnt get into. If i go to UCSC i have another chance in getting into it. Calpoly is a great school for engineering. probably one of the top schools? for engineering. But cal poly is far and its a state and people says its boring. i know it sounds stupid, but because UCSC is a UC i want to go there. EVen though UCSC does not have civil engineering, they have many other good programs. but they dont interest me that much. and i do go to UCSC it would be easier to change my major and its a more recognized school then calpoly is right? ive searched rankings for the 2 schools, and for national universities, UCSC was ranked 68 and calpoly wanst even in it. But it was ranked like number 4 for best undergrad engineering school. AHH!! this sucks. which school do u think i should go to??

You should let your major decide which school to go to...you shouldn't let the school you go to decide your major...so if UCSC does not offer the major you want to pursue, then go with CalPoly...I'm not really sure what you're saying about UCSC...does it have your major or not? Or did you just not get into your major in UCSC?

Cal Poly is not ranked in national rankings, it's ranked in regional rankings. I'd recommend cal poly since you are undeclared at santa cruz, but I've haerd good things about UCSC.

i have that dilemma too.. uc over top state school. cal poly is a very well known school for engineering though. a lot of companies hire students who are cal poly graduates. look someone gave me this link http://www.careerservices.calpoly.edu/gsr/04-05/gsrdetail2005.htm

btw ur sn looks familiar.. do i know u from somewhere?

what i meant by the UCSC thing is that i didnt get into my major. they say they can reconsider it but that would mean i would have to go to UCSC. is it worth going there and try again?

Well if it's easy to transfer to your major, I'd say go to UCSC...you'll take general ed classes the first few months anyways...I'm not sure, but can't you change your major after your first quarter ends? That's how it works in UCD since I'm considering changing my major there.

you dont need to delacre ur major right? leave alone changing it
