Help!! I just need somebody(to accept me ;)) ... Help!!

Hi
I am from India. I want to do a major in Neuroscience and Computers. Do I have a chance???
I am sure my essays are going to be fantastic. Why? I gave them 1.5 years of thought. My recs are in the process now ... they'll be top-notch too ... my Physics teacher loves my research on neural networks and my English teacher for my recent play. So ......... CHANCE ME!!! As accepted or rejected. And also do mention some safety schools if all my given schools appear ridiculously out-of-reach. Thanks in advance.

This is in the wrong forum.
please put all "Chance me" threads in the main MIT forum or the Chance me forum.

Welcome to MIT!!!

you have the test score no question, you have involvement, you have the grades, but do you have a passion? it seems as though you are all over the place..a good interview might boost your chances considerably

International admissions are notoriously.... I don't know what word I want to use, but it's really really hard. You're definitely in the running, but it'd be foolish to say you will for sure get in.

You've got a really good chance, but MIT's admissions committee seems to be so capricious that I won't like to give you any false hope but you keep the good work going- you never know.

I wouldn't say MIT's admissions are capricious - but competition is high, especially among internationals, and tough cuts have to be made.

Admission rate from India is ~1%. So with that in mind, I'm going to give you this advice: count on being rejected. You're obviously bright, you'll do well wherever you go, but MIT is a reach for all international students.
