Hi, i’m a high school senior who starts CC courses in a few weeks. I am applying for transfer this year because after meeting with my CC course adviser, all my AP courses transfer over. So, i’m starting the CC with around 32 credits. I only need around 10 more courses to get my Associate’s.
I plan on taking 2 over the summer(freshman intro class/public speaking), 4 in the fall(Intro to environmental science, elementary stats, issues in environmental science, and intro to archeology) , and the remaining in the spring(Art in contemporary society, theatre 1, physical geology, Texas government, and general zoology).
However, a few of the colleges I plan on applying for transfer require 60 credits. Would my AP courses factor into those credits? So, I would be fine to transfer to those colleges even though the credits weren’t taken at the CC? I do not plan on staying at the CC for another year because I will finish my Associates in the spring of 2018.
I also do not mind if the colleges require my high school stats, because I was a relatively strong high school student.(3.4/4.4 GPA, 1270 SAT). I also have very strong extracurriculars. (2 jobs, summer trip to study the climate in the Sierra Nevada Mts, many volunteer hours, judge for speech and debate tournaments)
I am majoring in Environmental Science.
Thank you so much. I just want to ensure that I am on the right path.
