I have a question in regards to pursuing a career in investment banking. I know that it is a very strenuous career with high rewards. That is why I would like to pursue this career.

This is my conundrum:I am 24 years old and I have no degree. My high school record is not something that would be proudly flaunted to admission committees in prestigious universities. I will be commencing online courses in a couple of weeks but would like to transfer to a top tier university such as the University of Chicago or Columbia University.

I would like to know what is that I can do to improve my chances of being admitted to a top 25 university. For instance, what extracurricular activities will make an impression on admission advisers? Also, what would be another route for me to follow in this labyrinth of confusion to my ultimate goal of investment banking.

Thank you in advance for all your comments.
