So I’ve recently accepted into one of my top schools. Yesterday I looked at my transcript and found out that I put accidentally A for 3 classes on my application when it says B on my transcript. Can I still call them up or something to correct it before they receive my final transcript and see those wrong grades then think I lied if I commit to that school?
Was it a mid-term grade that you guessed? I think that must happen quite a bit. Talk to your guidance counselor, but my advice would be to call the admissions office and explain that you approximated your grade and you guessed wrong, and you want to be honest and make sure they’ve got it right. My guess is that they’ll respect your integrity. I am definitely not an expert though, so ask your GC. Also, typos on the Common App happen a lot. Colleges don’t exactly like them, but they understand that they happen.
Did you have to submit a transcript when you applied, or were the only grades your self-reported ones? If they got your transcript, there is nothing to worry about because they’ve seen the real numbers. If you self-reported everything, then have a little chat with your guidance counselor about the right thing to do.
