Help! I really need help with my senior year :(

So I’m kind of stressing out about my classes for senior year. I haven’t really been getting much help and I’m stressing out. I have a few options

  1. Take Dual Credit Lang or Ap Lit (Im fine with writing or reading it doesn't matter) (most kids in my grade are taking ap lit but most of the seniors I've talked to recommended dual credit
  2. Take Dual Credit History (history isn't required at my school for senior year just Lang and math) (the teacher is relatively easy though)
  3. Dual Credit Math (im great at math but I'm not bad either) I have other options for this too--Statistics and probability// Statistics and probability or HS college algebra (I was recommended the latter so I wont have a huge learning gap when I enter college)

I know some colleges don’t except dual credit courses so I have to look into that. I’m also worried that if i take hard classes my senior year it won’t really matter that much. Honestly any advice would be immensely helpful I really don’t want to fuck up my senior year. Please feel free to share your own experiences with some of these classes. Thank you!!

It might affect your college GPA if you take dual credit courses in HS and don’t do well in them.

I would take what you can at the high school, like AP lit or Lang, AP history.
It still shows that you challenged yourself, but depending on AP test score you might or not get college credit for it.

What math have you taken so far? How about science and foreign language?

Talking to your counselor and people who have already taken the class will be more help than CC will because classes vary by school. Check with individual colleges you’re interested in and make sure you will graduate with enough credits in each academic field. I would advice against taking dual enrollment courses. In my opinion, ap classes look better when applying go schools and provide more of a challenge. Like the above poster said, if can also mess with your college gpa. Also, you usually get extra quality points on your wgpa for ap but not dual enrollment.

WOuld Dual credit English and Dual Credit History be yearlong or one semester?
I don’t understand the differences between your math choices - can you explain, and state what level of math you’ve already taken?
What other classes would you take?
What type of colleges are you aiming for?

Are these dual credit classes in the high school?

What is your intended major? Sharing even a general idea about your interests would help generate better advice. In addition, if you have any particular college programs in mind you need to make sure you have all of the required courses. For example, some business programs require applicants to take a high school physics course.

Yes, it would help to know where your interests are and maybe what your plans are after you graduate? My daughter took very few AP courses in high school and did dual enrollment instead. She knew where she wanted to go to college and was able to match up dual enrollment courses at her high school and a local college so that it covered some general education courses at her current college. My current junior in high school has taken the AP route. Think about plans after high school and you can research school policies with AP and dual enrollment on their websites. Good luck!
