I was researching into schools with good nuclear engineering programs, and UF showed up. After a couple of day's of research , I told my self that I should have applied sooner. I know the deadline was in october (I think).

Is there still any way to apply now, or is it too late?

UF is also ranked pretty high up as a public university too.

You could still apply, but your application would be viewed on a space-available basis and you’ll have to wait to receive your decision in april.

I’m a senior nuclear engineer at UF. The department is in pretty severe turmoil right now. There’s barely any faculty left. We were the last class to get taught by professors who are the top of the industry. Now it’s mostly guys who are in there like 3rd year teaching.

You can still apply (so long as you’re a high quality applicant, space available means you will get in) but you didn’t miss out too much on the nuke aspect. Though we do have a nuclear reactor that’s being upgraded to digital controls, so the department will EVENTUALLY recover (and be merged into mechanical).
