Ok,
I’ve tried to talk to my counselors multiple times but they’re no help. Im currently a junior (2nd semester) and i have a 3.33. 9th grade was horrible for me and i wadnt taking care of myself so my grades plummeted. And ever since then i just can’t seem to get my gpa up. (Laziness) Ive taken honors/accelerated class since I’ve entered high school. I am taking an ap class this year and plan on taking one next year. I haven’t taken the SAT/ACT yet but i plan on doing so this summer/next month. I have taken the psat and my score was horrible: 850. I participate in a lot of clubs and i volunteer at my church/a daycare. I was in beta club all through out middle school but i fell a couple of points in high school from being in b it again. I did colorguard 9th grade year and i never did any other extra curriculum activities since then. I know if i get all A’s this semester i can bump my gpa up to like a 3.4/3.5-ish. I just want to get into a good school and not let down my mom. I know i have no chance at uga but i was thinking about Georgia State/Emory. If not then my last resorts are Kennesaw /GGC. Guys please help me i need guidance. I am also a African-American female with a single mother. We get a low income but it’s enough for us to live “comfortably” I know those influence their decision as well. I’m really worried and i spend most nights crying because i feel like i have no chances anywhere. Help please. Thanks.
Kennesaw, North Georgia College, Georgia State all seem like decent chances. Would Valdosta State be a good safety maybe?
Thank you for the reply. I don’t mind Valdosta but my mom doesn’t want me to go there. But thanks again.
You have a good chance at both Georgia State University and Kennesaw. Georgia Southern is also another good option. Take both the ACT and SAT and see what happen. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
