Hi Guys, I’m a sophomore in high school right now and my grades aren’t that good right now. I’m taking AP Us History, Honors Chemistry, and Honors Algebra II. I have an A in Honors Chem and AP Us History, but I have a B- in Honors Algebra II bordering on a C+. My APUSH grade is also bordering on a B+. I’m only halfway into the semester and I might sound really dumb right now but I just need an answer. I’m not looking to get into a top tier university. I just want to get into a university, what are my chances with a C+ in math of getting into a university?
That is not healthy at all! You can get your grade to an A, or at least a B, c’mon man! It’s only mid semester why be so pessimistic? The reason that I seem to convey alot of emotion is because my friend does the same thing and I gotta knock some sense into him all the time.
I am more concerned about algebra, and not so much US History. Algebra is going to be the key to a lot of things that you are going to be studying in the future – at least anything in mathematics and physics.
I am not a fan of sophomores taking AP history classes, because they are such time sink’s. However, I don’t see a B in AP US History as being a bad thing.
You should probably try to get some help after school with algebra. It is an area where you want to understand the concepts well. Definitely do not try to just memorize things.
