HELP! I'm down to my final two ...

Okay, so here's the thing.

I can go to Fordham for basically $6k a year.

or I can go to a local private university (not as prestigious, but not overlooked either) and start as a sophomore (may be able to start a bit higher with my other college credits). The problem is I'd be really close to home (missing out on the college experience?) and it's not exactly where I dreamed of going. This would be for around the same price per year. Plus, they would let me transfer out next year with the credits already, etc... but I might just stay there for an easier time and higher GPA.

I plan to go to law school after undergrad, if that helps. I really wanted to go GW, but the finaid is not good at all for me. I'm thinking maybe I can go to DC for law school.

well what is the other school? That might change a lot of things.

But from what you’ve said I think Fordham sounds like a sure bet. I mean you’d only be going for 6K, it’s NYC, and it’s a great school. I think that it’s kind of important to get away from home for your college experience and explore and there is no better place to do that than NYC.

bumpppity bumppp ?

No need to rush through college. Go to Fordham.

If you can go to Fordham for $6K a year, do it!!! Even if you take out loans, $24K isn’t a crippling amount of debt.

Besides, Fordham has a great law school of its own, and a tremendous track record placing its grads into other top-notch law schools.

I honestly don’t see any downside to spending the next four years of your life at Fordham.

Good luck!

Hi, again,
Just read your other thread. I didn’t realize the state school you were accepted to is TCNJ, or that you’d be commuting for Fordham.

That changes things a bit.

TCNJ is an outstanding school. So is Fordham. But I think I’d urge you to go to TCNJ and live on campus, verses commuting to Fordham.

I really think it’s better to live on campus than to commute, if you have a choice. Which you do. :)

I say this as a Fordham grad who loves the school, but who also lived on campus for four years. Go to TCNJ, live on campus, have fun, and immerse yourself in college.

You’ll have no problem getting into a topnotch law school from TCNJ, provided you have a strong undergrad transcript and high LSATs.

Fordham for 6K per is a bargain. I would opt for Fordham.
