<p>I had an A average in Algebra 2 skills so my algebra skills are not bad. I can factor and solve for the quadratic formula and all that. Right now I have a D and I'm worried. I've been getting F's and D's on all of my quizzes and most of our grade in the class is based of tests/quizzes. My teacher gives pop quizzes too. Our homework is just a completion grade but we do go over the answers in class. I take notes and stay awake in class, but i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. I do all my homework (I don't copy of anyone). I know a lot of people who are currently in Calculus but i'm not sure which area i'm struggling in. I want to get at least a B by the end of the quarter. If you've taken precalculus or are in calculus do you have any tips for those classes. I'm a junior and i'm still planning on taking Calculus AB next year.</p>

<p>Yeah, if you’re paying attention, doing your homework, and asking your teacher for help but still are doing poorly, then you should definitely see about getting a tutor. Last year no one in either of my (honors) math classes had tutors, but now half the people in my honors precalc class have tutors.</p>
<p>What topic are you on right? What have you been struggling on the most? Target those areas, and practice. Is it hard for you to understand the material? Or is the problem that you can’t apply the methods?</p>
<p>Use all the resources you have. Go to extra help with your teacher, work on more problems in your textbook, maybe even buy a review book for help.</p>
<p>And if you like spoken lessons, try out Patrick jmt or Khan Academy (google them). They give cogent and concise explanations about lots of things you might need help on. They helped me immensely when I needed it.</p>
<p>Also, don’t be so quick to jump to a tutor. Try figuring it out yourself first. It will be much more rewarding and will build confidence in yourself, because you figured it out without needing help. </p>
<p>But definitely ask your teacher for help, and use the resources I mentioned. </p>
