Well Cornell is def my first choice but today I was looking at Dartmouth and realized that it had Cornell beat in several areas such as diversity, percentage who come back and overall student happiness. I know its too late to apply so help me put my doubts aside by telling me how Cornell is better than Dartmouth. Thanks

I like both.

If you were accepted to Cornell how can you even contemplate any other school? I was deferred and would absolutely kill to know that my future was secure at cornell

Word Rad!!!!!

Points to consider:

Dartmouth's educational programs are subpar, especially in the sciences, engineering, and research.

Dartmouth is about 1/3 the size of Cornell; how can it possibly be more diverse?

More kids come back to Dartmouth because the school has so little credibility that their transfer apps to Harvard, Princeton, and Yale get rejected. :P

Dartmouth students only appear happier because they are drunk when the surveys are administered. They are all raging alcoholics.

Dartmouth is located in New Hampshire.

I'll be seeing you next fall.

haha, EXACTLY what they needed to hear.

dont worry i feel the same way about yale as you do about dartmouth.. its confusing.

haha thanks guys especially u perro. Now my fears and doubts have been put to rest :) o and by the way I applied RD so I'm not even sure I'm into Cornell yet lol

hey prncss...u like dartmouth and cornell...nothing wrong with that...why don't you apply to dartmouth?

Its the easiest school to apply to...takes the common app, no supplemental essay...just give your peer rec to one of your friends tomorrow and then give your teacher recs and counselor forms when you come back from break...dartmouth won't mind if those come in later...

Then make the decision in April when you find out where you got in.

Peer rec? What's the point of that? I haven't seen Dartmouth's application so I don't know about this.

Haha...absolutely no point whatsoever...i cant see it making or breaking an application...i guess its just to make Dartmouth's app seem more complicated than it really is...

You can make a big school smaller but you can't make a small school bigger! (Ouch.. How cliche.. True, although.)

I would think it would be much easier to make a small school bigger...

transfering between ivy leagues is supposedly fairly easy, so if you end up really liknig Dartmouth, transfer :-).

well the way it works at my high school, u have to turn in the application to our school registrar atleast 2 weeks b4 the deadline so I think it's too late to apply to Dartmouth, but it's ok cuz I want to do science and I heard Dartmouth isn't too stong in the sciences. Plus I agree with what everyone's been saying about making a big school seem smaller. But here's another question, how are the interracial realations at Cornell?

haha perro, you're funny

yeah peer rec's, i have to write one for a friend who's applying RD to Dartmouth... quite strange, i don't see the point. but hey, i get to say whatever i want! (like ahem* cornell's better *ahem) lol

We visited Dartmouth and were surprisingly disappointed, from the weird posters proclaiming " 95 percent of Dartmouth students have never taken an exam with a hangover", or something like that, and the interesting info. on the tour that such and such a dorm was "drug-free", and another was "alcohol free" (drinking age in NH is 21, no?) Dartmouth is isolated, apparently contributing to an apparent obsession with substance use to help ease the boredom. I think Cornell has it all over the big green, and to me the choice is obvious....Dartmouth has some major problems.

you can find substance abuse problems on all campuses

my friend who goes to dartmouth told me that their unofficial mascot is "keggy the keg" or something of that nature..
