Help! I'm so lost and confused...

<p>I seriously don't know what to do right now. I thought I would be happy on this day but I guess that wasn't to be :( .</p>

<p>My stats are:</p>

<p>SAT: 2350
SATII: Math2: 800 Spanish: 750 Chemistry: 800 Lit: 800
GPA: 4.0 unweghted, 4.6 weighted
Rank: 2/650
Lots of APs, all 4s and 5s, I'm an AP Scholar and NM finalist</p>

<p>I was president of NHS and played varsity lacrosse. 400 Hours community service and I've been volunteering at local university doing research since 9th grade. Founder of the film club, and president of student gov't.</p>

<p>I have a job at a department store, about 20 hours a week.</p>

<p>I come from competitive high school in Missouri. My etachers wrote awesome recs and my GC knows me well.</p>

<p>I applied/got into the following schools:
Yale
Princeton
Caltech
Brown
Columbia
Dartmouth
Cornell
WUSTL
UNC-chapel hill
UCBerkeley
Northwestern</p>

<p>But here's what really gets me:
I got rejected from GWU!!! I should've gotten in w/my stats. WTH happened? I was going for a perfect admittance record. I got into some good schools but I seriously thought gwu should've accepted me.</p>

<p>I really don't know what happened... somebody please offer their knowledge? I'm happy I got accepted to a good number of schools but that one rejection is really getting to me.</p>

<p>sometimes a school will reject someone if they figure theyre only a 'safety' school. meaning basically. they mighta thought u were too good.</p>

<p>This was probably a troll post. It is a matter of probability that being accepted to all of those schools is statististically very unlikely for anyone.</p>

<p>On the off chance that it wasn't, I would say to the OP that this type of behavior is obsessive and you really should examine the basis of it. Eventually something will happen that is worse than not having a perfect acceptance record. At that point, having that type of mindset will be a real liability.</p>

<p>Makes sense. I don't think anyone can be so stupid as to post such a thread at this inopportune time. Still though, the post is pretty callous, considering thousands of these posters are watching their dreams float down the drain.</p>
