I’ve submitted my application to SAS-NB, RBS-NB & RBS-Newark and some people are saying that you can’t possibly get admitted to both a Newark and New Brunswick school, while others have said that they have been admitted to both locations. So I’m kinda scared that Newark will only accept me now lOl because their stats are very low so should I just withdraw my application for RBS-Newark or keep it
I think that the people who have been accepted to both are telling the truth. This seems to pretty strongly disprove the people who say that you cannot be accepted to both.
I am not familiar with Rutgers other than knowing several people (all very strong graduate students and/or very strong coworkers) who graduated from Rutgers. However, I do know multiple people who applied to UMass Amherst as their match and UMass Lowell as their safety. Most were accepted to both schools. I would expect that many students from New Jersey do the same thing with Rutgers.
I don’t think that you should worry about it. However, if you want to make sure then I would ask the admissions staff at Rutgers.
What don’t you call admissions at the two locations (NB and Newark) on Monday and ask. Then you will know for certain. If necessary you can withdraw one application.
That’s not really how it works in all honesty. If you have stats that are more than competitive for NB, you will very likely get into Newark as it is easier to get into, if you applied of course. I know numerous students who applied to NWK as a backup and ended up having admission but choosing NB instead.
There are some kids who gain admission into NB but not NWK. Such was the case for me when I applied as a transfer. Transfer admissions is a little different as well. However, I know numerous classmates that got into both NB and NWK as transfers who ended up choosing NB as well.
