HELP: I'm transfering, worried about transcripts and how to get into Grad school

I'm at a private liberal arts school in Chicago and I hate it. I'm in an academic field at a school of art students and fashion designers. Not to mention I'm paying more money than I'll ever have on a lousy education. So, I'm transferring to a great school for a great cost. I'll be going to a community college to get a few core classes for a semester before going to my school of choice to finish the last 2 years of my BA.

Here's my issue: I'm taking a class that is an absolute insult to my education and is detracting from my education. I've decided to stop attending for the last 2 weeks and will fail, and I've accepted that. This is intentional. Irresponsible sure because I realize I'm not proving my intelligence but I can't waste my precious time anymore.

When I go to CC will I be able to make this class up? I don't need it, but I also don't need an F on my transcript. I'm fine to get into the school I plan on going to after CC-- but I REALLY want to go on to grad school within a few years of getting my BA but am worried that with a failing grade I will look like a moron.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Insult to my intelligence *

yeah you will look like a moron. Is there any way you can get a C in the course?

Well that’s a really unkind and uninformed answer, thanks.

Sorry if I seemed insensitive. I was led to believe that you were asking if the F would make you look like a moron in a seemingly simple course. I’ll reiterate my question though, is there any way you can make a C in the course? That F is going to follow you all the way to graduate school and while it may not affect you that much, you’re going to have to jump through more hurdles than if you were to just bite the bullet and pull a C out.

Do not get any F you can avoid. Intelligence often involves biting the bullet and doing things you don’t like.

Man up and get the best grade you can. You’re not really sticking it to anybody but yourself. We’ve all taken classes we don’t like, but the key is to grind through it and do the best you can regardless of how you feel about the class.

Does your school do W’s/WPs?

That’ll look better than an F.
