The deadline for a vast majority of my schools to submit 2006 W-2s and Tax Forms is March 1st. I know that it is very important to get everything done on time for financial aid in college admissions. I have already submitted the FAFSA and CSS Profile to all of my school, but the IDOC deadline is also March 1. My parents haven't received all of their W-2s and the tax forms are going to be completed a few days after March 1. My question is how do colleges expect us to get all of this to them by March 1? Am I going to get an aid package that will be less than what I would have gotten if I applied on time?

Its a federal law that they have to be in the mail by Jan31st.
Irealize some companies dawdle anyway- but if you haven't received them by the first week in Feb- I would make sure you had the correct w-2 info to file- particulary in a year when you will be filing intial FAFSA

Thats probably why colleges expect them by Mar1st
However- if parents have year end tax stubs- they should also have the pertinent information.
If you don't file by the deadline, you still may get aid, but you may have to wait until they process the applications that were received by the deadline.
Double check the tax stub with info on FAFSA and you shouldn't have much of an adjustment

what are tax stubs?

The part of the check that they do not cash, it generally has weekly and year to date payroll info on it.

They are actually called paystubs. And the last one they got in December of 2006 should have a total of how much they earned for the whole year under the "year-to-date" section. You can use this number to estimate for financial aid if you will not have taxes done in time.
