Please help me with my situation by answering my question.

I am a student with straight As with most of my major prerequisites done for U.C. Berkeley's Political Science department. When I posted my stats last time on the forum, people were pretty optimistic tha I would get in with my GPA and my ecs.

But recently, I've faced the possibility of failing one of my class, not because of I was lazy but because of some stupid/unseen circumstance that happened on the day my paper was due and my teacher is unlikely to buy that and probably wouldn't accept my paper (even though it is 30 pages long with extensive researches.

The name of the course is International Politics..this is the UC transferable course but it's not a prereq course for UC Berkeley's poli sci department

It is now too late to drop that course, given that the deadline has passed...

I've also transferred to other places like Davis, San Diego and UCLA...

So please tell me what I can do..Would a failing grade in a non-prereq. course, given that I've already had my IGETC, completed significantly hurt chances at Berkeley's Political Science Department? ( I know this will..but I'm just confirming..)

Please tell me if there are any other things I can do!!!!!!!!

If I fail this class and there are no ways I can remove this course grade and if Cal. rejects me..here are my options

1) STay another year
2) Go to another UC<---I'm not doing this..
3) Go jump off a cliff..

Thanks

you need to beg, get on your knees, pray to god, pray to rocks or whatever you can to get at least a C in the class. If that fails you can explain your situation in one of the essays and I think you'll be okay.

30 pages long!! that is huge! is political science a difficult major? how long did it take u to write that paper?
here's my method of writing papers: write a rough draft within an hour or so. leave it for a day and edit it. leave it for another day and edit it.

hmm i dunno if u could do this but have the admissions committee read ur 30 page paper? heck maybe they'll like it, condemn your professor, and accept you?

Oh boy...I already have problems writing in MLA style for 5 page essays in English 100. I was thinking about taking a course in International Relations, but that looks too competitive.

so did the circumstances arise after you'd written the paper? Did you just forget to bring it to class on the day it was due or what? I don't follow you.

this is what I would do if I really wanted to go to berk

just beg and if the teach still says no, just retake the class for an A next sem or over winter session. Make sure you get less than a D so you can retake it.
