Help in college selection

Hello everyone, my name is Paul and im trying to help my girlfriend find a good school for herself.

She is in the top 3% of her class, has an unweighted GPA of 3.66, a 31 on her ACT that she walked in on (she refuses to take it again), white, and i dont recall her subject test scores.

She doesnt want to go any farther north than MA, probably no farther South than NC and no farther West than the fringe of pennsylvania

Please recommend schools that are strong in the Social Sciences..she has been exploring majors and her mom has been pressuring her to choose a school by strength of intended major. She has gone through psychology, poli sci, social work, and public policy in the span of about 8 months so it would be unwise, i think, to choose a school by major at this point since she is 10 months or so away from actually picking a school, but all her thoughts thus far fall under the net of social sciences. Any input is very much appreciated.

That’s very sweet of you, helping your girlfriend. But wouldn’t it be better if she post her stats by herself? It would be much easier for CC members to find colleges for her.

She doesnt like the site… she found too much snobbery lol. ill find out as much as i can and post again later

Her stats are basically mine. Exactly. Check out my profile.

Anyways, what her major? Desired school size/atmosphere? Does she need financial aid, and if so, how much? Would she be willing to go to a lower-tier school?

Boston University, Clark University (Mass.), Pittsburgh, U of Maryland, Lafayette, Lehigh, Villanova, Dickinson, Gettysburg, Franklin and Marshall, Bucknell, Union College (NY).

Not all schools have social work or public policy. That would really narrow your options.

thx alot collegehelp

OHKID…like i said, she’s unsure of her major but all her interests fall under the net of social sciences… she wants a large school in a rural area which isn’t all that common and she just wants an atmosphere where she can do well, but have a good time. I don’t think she’ll need financial aid. And she seems willing to go to a lower tier school… she just wants to be happy where she is… rite now we’re looking for target schools tho

Duke’s Public Policy major is SICK (in a good way, lol), but it would definitely be a big reach for her with a 3.6.

According to USNWR (blah): http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-public-affairs-schools/public-policy-analysis

It’s technically a grad school ranking, but it shows the strength of the program :)

when i was searching for myy college, it really wasnt easy to find colleges and relevant information. but some websites like glocalstudy.com did actually help
