Help in how to list extracurriculars/awards etc. in application

I am in the process of filling out college applications online and am stuck on how to organize the clubs, awards and etc. I am also a bit confused on how to describe the clubs and hours etc. The questions are listed below and if anybody can help me perhaps put a sample answer to the questions. Thank you this would really help me!

Question 1: List any programs or activities that helped you preare for higher education, such as university outreach, talent search, upward bound, etc.

Question 2: Extracurricular activities. List the prganizations that are most important to you and in which you have made your highest achievements. Include your position, a description of the activity and the number of hours you contributed each week.

Question 3: Honors, awards, and recognition. List each and describe the level and the number of years of your involvement.

Question 4: Community service. List the activity, your role and the number of hours you volunteered each week.

Question 1: List any programs or activities that helped you preare for higher education, such as university outreach, talent search, upward bound, etc.

This would include educational programs such as Trio, Upward Bound, Avid, etc. If you have not participated in such programs, leave it blank.

Question 2: Extracurricular activities. List the organizations that are most important to you and in which you have made your highest achievements. Include your position, a description of the activity and the number of hours you contributed each week.

Before tackling this, spend some time listing all of the activities, hobbies, and interests you have pursued in the past three years. (Middle school activities do not count). Then, prioritize the activities that have been MOST important to you, and enter them on the form in their order of importance to YOU. Note: "importance" doesn't necessarily mean the activities that you have spent the most number of hours on -- it could also be the pursuits that have given you the most satisfaction. List them in the order of importance. There is a short space on the Common App to briefly describe them. If you need more explanation, consider expanding on them in one of the essays or in the additional information section, or sending a separate SHORT (no more than two page) activity resume. You will not be able to list every single thing you have done or participated in during high school, so you must choose wisely and carefully. Really give this some thought before randoming putting down things.

Question 3: Honors, awards, and recognition. List each and describe the level and the number of years of your involvement.

This is just what it says. Any awards, honors, or recognition you have received during HIGH SCHOOL. That "citizenship of the month" award from third grade doesn't count. Examples of what people might list here (assuming they had actually won/received these): School Honor Roll, National Honor Society, Department awards from your high school, AP Scholar or AP commended, National Merit Scholar Commended or semi-finalist, Boys or Girls State, etc.

If you have not received any awards or recognition, leave the section blank.

Question 4: Community service. List the activity, your role and the number of hours you volunteered each week.

Have you volunteered to help people in your community or school? Examples would be: volunteered in a soup kitchen to help feed the homeless, tutored elementary students, etc. "Community service" does not include helping out around your house, or saying hi to your elderly next door neighbor every now and then. They are looking for formal volunteer activities you have participated in on a regular basis. If you haven't done any such activities, leave this section blank.

It is all pretty clear cut -- just follow the directions. Good luck!

Would Outward Bound the summer before 9th grade count for question 1?
