Help in Selecting Colleges

I am currently in grade 11, so right now I am basically beginning my college search. I go to a private school in British Columbia, Canada. However, I reside in Washington. (US and Canadian Citizen)

Basically right now I have:
- about a 3.3 GPA. I am confident that I could get it to a 3.5 before I apply to universities.
- haven't written the SAT's yet
- My school doesn't offer AP's until grade 12. It only offers 2, AP Lit and AP Calc. I will be taking both.
- Rank: Out of a class of about 40 I am 5th.
- I would say I have stronger than average EC's.
- East Indian Male

As for preferences: a strong science program, preferably a larger university, if possible in a large city, other than that I have no preference on location or if it's private/public. Cost will not be a problem.

I realize it is tough without a standardized test score, but I am looking for a more general list of universities I should look into. Including, the best universities I could have a chance to get into if I am to perform very well on the SAT's. (2000+)

A general list I have been looking at is:

University of Washington
University of British Columbia
University of Toronto
University of California System
University of Wisconsin - Madison
New York University
Vanderbilt University

A lot of these are probably high reaches for me, but anyways I am just looking at universities right now. So I would appreciate any recommendations on universities I should look into.

Maybe JHU?

I'm not sure about the strength of NYU in sciences.

Purdue and Case Western would probably be good choices.

Your stats are a bit too low for NYU (3.7 and well over 2000), but competitive for all others, including almost all UCs (except for LA and Berkeley, I believe). You should talk to a college counselor. And, yes, Case would be a good choice.

University of Rochester sounds good. Rice would be an excellent school for you, too. How about USC, Boston University, George Washington U. If you have really good SAT results, Johns Hopkins sounds like the type of place that would interest you.
