Help!!! International student

For as long as I can remember I have been extrememly lazy, not going to lessons, ****ing aroung etc. But when I got my IB scores I realised I could have done a lot better, so now I'm applying to American universities. (I'm British by the way).

With an IB score of 34 and say if I get a SAT score of 2200+ with subject sats of 700+ in french and physics. What sort of schools should I be aiming for.

And I know how important ECs are so.... I've been playing violin for about 12 years and percussion for about 7. I was in the school orchestra. I played rugby, cricket, football (soccer), hockey for school teams.

I was a house prefect, done about 50 hours community service. Work experience at a law firm and worked as a gardening assistant (boring as ****).

Other boring minor **** that the IB made me do.

I dont have gpa, class ranking etc. I do have GCSE's which were A's and A*s with 2 Bs

I know Harvard Princeteon etc. are out of the question, but could I apply to lower Ivy league schools like Cornell perhaps. What about NYU. Sounds really fun. 40,000 students in New York = sex, drugs and rok and roll. Chicago uni??

Lastly, what do americans think of english students?? Do they generally get on with Americans, get involved etc.

Thanks!!!

To be an international student wanting to be accepted at top university like that you need to be the best of the best. Seeing as how you said you were lazy and haven’t done very well you most likely won’t have a good shot at NYU or any Ivy. There are plenty of smart kids who do well on tests, but just don’t really care and that is not the type of person they are looking for. Our german foreign exhange student had amazing ACT and SAT scores as well as great ECs and recs, but he was kind of like you and only did what they made him do so he didn’t get into a top tier school.

If you want to apply then go ahead, but there are a lot more better qualified applicants.
Good luck.

PS: English kids are pretty much like american kids, you guys just have a different accent, but we’re pretty much the same. (live in Leeds when I was little)

Anyone else???

Ivies, no. NYU, if you can pay for it, probably.
