I recently applied to Vanderbilt and received the mail about the interview.
But unfortunately there is no interviewer living in my country.

Will this put me at a disadvantage in comparison to a student who has had an interview because there are universities that state interviews are optional but recommended.

Is there any other way for me to have an interview taken.

There is no way they will hold it against you, don't worry about it. I wouldn't make a big deal about it at all but if you happen to visit campus maybe they could arrange something for you. But don't stress outm plenty of people get in without interviews even if there are interviewers in their area.

Interviews are mostly for your information. It won't hurt you to not have one. All they do is help and give a personal side to you app (like another rec.) Really don't worry about it. If you visit...you could try to set up an interview...don't worry about it too much
