I am missing one class on my IGETC, but my major doesn't require to complete IGETC.
I can actually take the one class, but my major preparation class is at the same time as this IGETC class.
So of course I will choose to take the major preparation class instead of a philosophy class to fulfill IGETC.
So is IGETC important for transfer?

Thank you:)

What’s your major and where do you want to transfer to?

If you don’t want to take GE classes at the same time you’re taking classes related to your major when you transfer, then it’s ideal to complete IGETC, UNLESS you’re an engineering major, in which case, it’s highly discouraged at a lot of UCs to complete IGETC. If your school allows you to file for partial IGETC, take advantage of it. That way, when you transfer, you only need to complete the areas of IGETC that you didn’t finish.

my major is computer science and want to transfer to UCI.
what is partial IGETC?
