hey everyone,

anyway i submitted my pre-app a few months ago, and honestly i must say that it was a complete mistake...because i didn't really know what i wanted to major in at that time and just put down some possible interests.

however, i later took a class at my community college and decided on what i really wanted to major in and possibly have a career in. i even wrote my common app essay on it...

can i just call admissions and ask them to change my three choices for me?

or should i just write another essay for dartmouth and not mention my new interests?

thanks a lot for any help!

It's not important at all. The majors you put down will only affect some administrative stuff if you're admitted - you'll be assigned a faculty advisor in the department you originally wanted to major in. You can call them and ask to change it, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't worry about it. Like john said, the admissions ppl only use that to pair you up with a faculty advisor.

hey thanks guys,

the thing is, i wrote my essay on it...and since dartmouth doesn't have any additional essays, i'm just afraid they may think i'm too dumb to even fill out the drop-down menu.

hopefully you're all correct!

Dude
it's not dumb...
you know what's dumb? I FORGOT to request my transcript for Yale
