I’m a first year pre-health student and I have to register for classes pretty late after getting off the waitlist. This is what I was able to put together, and I was wondering if this is a good schedule especially since I will be commuting for about one hour. I kind of don’t like how unstable it is since in high school I had the same classes, same teachers, same time every single day of the week. But, I’ll probably get used to it. Anything I should keep in mind?

Before you sign up for an 8 am chemistry class, you should ask yourself: How far do you have to commute? How long will it take? Are you in an area where snow will be a concern come winter? Are you a morning person?
Otherwise it looks fine.
I hate waking up very early LOL, and my commute is about one hour long via train and I will experience all 4 seasons. The problem is that’s the only chemistry class available (lectures at my school have hundreds of students), so I guess I have no choice. Thanks for your input!
How will you be commuting?
How reliable is the train at keeping schedule?
Also, shouldn’t biology have a lab?
8 am chemistry class after a 1 hour commute? There is no possible way that I personally would sign up for that. However, I’m not a morning person at all. Some people are. Waking up at 6 to be there by 8 does not sound appealing to me.
Aside from that, it really doesn’t look bad to me.
However, forget about the idea of having the same start times and such every day of the week. High school works like that. College doesn’t. There will be days that you’ll have early classes and there will likely at some point be days where you won’t have any classes until the afternoon or possibly no classes at all.
Thanks guys, I think for my school the bio lab is only available for the spring semester! I know I hate waking up at 6AM but I guess I’ll have to adjust.
Waking up early like that is rough, but you can sleep on the train.
The early mornings are tough. Especially as a commuter because you never know what to expect with traffic. I avoided those whenever possible. Since your Thursdays have a much later start and Tuesdays only a little later, I suggest getting up at the same time every day anyway. That helps get your body on a schedule and the 8:00 classes won’t be so bad. If you stay up late because you can sleep late, you end up being exhausted because you can’t get on a routine. Use those mornings for extra reading/studying or other activities you’re interested in. Go ahead and go to campus at the same time if it helps keep you motivated in the morning.
