I submitted my UC app for UCLA+UCSD today, and got a confirmation email from UCSB!!! what is going on? I checked the TAG box for UCSD and TAP for UCLA...I just went back and triple checked! why did i get this email thanking me for submitting my UCSB TAG????????????

They’re just hungry for applicants. They’ll do whatever it takes.

I didn’t even get a confirmation for any of the schools yet… should I have?

Here’s an excerpt from the confirm email:

Thank you for submitting a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) to UCSB for fall 2010. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of some important items regarding your transition to UCSB.

First, although you have submitted a TAG contract, you must still file an application for admission to UCSB for the fall 2010 term during the November 1-30, 2009 UC application filing period. If you have not already begun working on the online application, it is available at [University of California - Application](Apply now | UC Admissions). You will receive an email confirming receipt of your application in December. It is important that you respond to all inquires and requests for updated information to ensure your application moves as quickly as possible through the evaluation process. You will be notified of your admit status between March 15th and May 1st.

the email you received isnt a confirmation for your UC app…its for a TAG agreement. Did you fill one out a few months ago with ucsb?

guitarfrk123, obviously it’s a TAG confirm, and obviously I never signed one for UCSB hence my freak-out post. the email came in 5 min after I submitted my UC app so I assume it was from that submission, not the TAG I sent to ucsD 2 months ago…

Then just call ucsb and ask them whats going on. the number is (805) 893-2881

I called UCSB yesterday and left a VM, haven’t heard back yet. Also called UC apps, they deferred me.

if you signed a TAG with UCSD you should have been assigned a TAG rep. You should call them.
