Hey, I'm applied ED to HUMEC for Policy Analysis and Management and got deferred. I recieved an email about the notification date and I'm freaking out here. My stats are:

Chinese Girl

SAT: 2270/2400 - math: 750, CR: 760, Writing: 760
SAT II: Math II: 790, Biology M: 730, World History: 720
AP: World History:5, US History: 5, AP Physics B: 5, AP Spanish Language: 4 (going to take AP Calculus, AP English Language, AP Government and Politics, and AP Chemistry in May)
Senior schedule: 4 APs and one college-honors class (taking the two of the hardest classes in our school though: English Language and Chemistry)
Ranking: Top 5%, possibly 13/330~ (freshman year wasn't good but the yearly average actually increases; rank might increase by end of the year)
GPA: weighted (no uw): 4.29/4.6 (again the GPA is sloping upward; averaged a 4.6 for junior year)
High School Type: competitive high school

EC: Piano for 10-12~ years, clarinet in band for 7-8~ years; High school band for 4 years, Jazz Band for 3 years (piano and clarinet), Pit Orchestra for 3 years (piano and clarinet), Fencing Varsity Team, National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, Volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital for 3 years, worked a summer volunteer job at an NYU Medical Lab, etc.
Honors: Commended Student, AP Scholar with Honor, various honors societies...
Recommendations: should be good since both teachers love me
Counselor Rec: probably good since she vouched for me
Essay: ...I can't tell!!!
Weaknesses: azn :( , no demonstration of leadership, possibly essay

Stuff I did after the deferment:
- Sent a letter explaining why I love Cornell
- Counselor decided to vouch for me and called the University and the College (she said I was flagged...don't know if that's significant)
- Sent in another teacher rec. from a Cornell alumnus

I know I'm an average applicant (I don't need to be reminded of that...) , but is there any chance that Cornell would accept me?
