Everyone wants bundy because it is the big room and party dorm.
@rnl2691 They have a really good one, I am going to play there next year. 6 new guys committed so far and waiting on 1 more.
We will be nationally ranked.
So those are the first-year dorms I believe. Is that the only dorm in the whole college that has A/C then? What about after that? How likely will I get an A/C dorm for all 4 years? Are you actually allowed to bring an A/C unit because I’ve never heard of a college that lets you.
I wouldn’t mind playing tennis too but I don’t think I’m good enough to make the team since I’m not really that good at tennis. I actually would rather play tennis than run track, but I’m way better at track. Would you say I have a shot at the tennis team at Earlham as a singles player? I would say I’m like a 3.0 player on the NTRP scale. I should have contacted the coach but it’s too late now since the deadline to commit is today.
I don’t know about the other schools, but I really liked Butler when I visited it. It seemed like the school gives the students lots of opportunities and attention.
In terms of rep and cost, the top choices are IU, Purdue and Earlham.
IU is generally thought to be better at the humanities and social sciences than Purdue, but really they’re pretty even overall.
Earlham is small, so you could do the sports thing, and it will give you a good LAC education. If being a varsity athlete and getting a really good education at a decent price are important to you, I think Earlham is the best choice.
IU and Purdue are bigger names, but you’d have to walk on.
Just to clarify - at USF only freshmen are required to live on campus. And there’s no AC because…fog.
Not always…
…and not necessarily. In my dorm (not one of the schools you’re looking at), we barely even have control over the temperature.
Looks like there are several dorms with A/C. See the sidebar with “Cooling System Coverage.”

You may get AC, BUT you may not have much control over the temp, and your roommate may disagree on what is appropriate. Seriously… I can’t believe this is your top criteria during the school year in Indiana. Go to Earlham.
Agree^. That can all be worked out when you get there.
If money isn’t an issue and you really can’t decide between these schools, then you’re probably a low-maintenance person who can succeed anywhere.
Right now I am leaning on Chapman. It is better to go to a college that is local right, since I plan on living by the LA/OC area when I finish college. Not sure if employers will look at undergrad much but I still don’t know if I will have to go to grad school.
I was kind of considering Earlham and DePauw but I really dislike where they are located. They are also a lot smaller than even my own high school. Which worries me a little about the dating life, especially at Earlham. It is a really small, not really diverse college located in a small town. Not many options to find someone.
Still, the big thing that is still attracting me to Earlham is that high ranked Japanese program and how many foreign exchange students come there, especially from Japan.
I’m still not really familiar with the academics at Chapman since I never visited there and no one in Indiana talks about or even know about Chapman. Are its academics/prestige better than Earlham/DePauw or is Earlham/DePauw better, or are they about the same?
Well… I feel a lot more relieved now that it is May 2 in Indiana. Ironically I just got this email from Purdue though “Monday is May 2 - the deadline to accept your Purdue admission offer. As of April 25, you had not accepted or declined your offer, and I’m sending this final note to ensure you know May 2 is a firm deadline.”
Still, I’m not going to go to Purdue. I don’t like the skewed gender ratio at Purdue and Lafayette is such a small town.
So now I am down to two colleges. Chapman and University of San Francisco. There is still University of the Pacific left but I have no clue what Stockton is like.
Leaning on Chapman as of now.
Still kind of want to go to Earlham now that I just checked their facebook group. I wonder if I could email Earlham and ask for an extension to decide since it doesn’t seem many people apply here anyways? I just need one more day to decide so I can talk to some people at school tomorrow.
MAKE A DECISION. Hell, flip a coin if you must.
I’d go with Earlham or Chapman
I decided to choose Chapman University to attend this fall of 2016!
No regrets, even though I’ve never visited Chapman before I feel like it will be a good place for me. Thanks everyone for dealing with my OCD and paranoia lol.
Do keep us updated
Congratulations!
