I have an application due via the Common App tomorrow (deadline is January 1st) and my teachers and counselors have not submitted their forms. My application has been ready to go for awhile, and I haven't sent it because of this problem. I contacted the schools and they're all aware that some of my school forms will be late because of this (everyone is on break, hence why the teachers probably haven't done it). However, my question is, will I even be able to submit my application today without the letters of rec attached?! Please give me some insight, as I'm freaking out and have to get my application in on time, one way or another.

Don’t panic! You can submit your application without your teacher recommendations and I would STRONGLY suggest you do so as soon as possible in case you have technical difficulties. Especially considering how close the deadline is. Colleges are strict about YOU adhering to the deadline but allow a grace period for teachers and counsellors. They understand the volume of recommendations teachers are asked to write and also understand that a late teacher recommendation isn’t your fault. Just make sure your recommendations are submitted in time to be properly considered and you’ll be fine. SO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION!! :)

Thank you so much! That was just the answer I needed. You’ve been a huge help, and I’m submitting my application as I type :)

Yep – don’t worry! Submit that app!

Submit it! Like others have said, you need to get it in regardless of teacher/counselor recs - they have a few more days of wiggle room while you do not.

Hey so I am having the same problem. I have to submit 2 of my applications today but one of my teacher still hasn’t submitted her recommendation. Should I wait…i have already emailed her a couple of times…
Thanks

Don’t wait, go for it, you can’t submit your application after the deadline, but your teachers can still submit forms.
