I checked my online Harvard status account and it says that they have not received my letters of recommendation and my secondary school report. When I checked my commonapp school forms section, it said everything had been downloaded by the college. What does this mean? Is there something I forgot to do?

It sometimes takes two weeks for stuff to appear on the status report, but given that the Admissions Office staff was off for Christmas and New Year’s, it make take a bit longer. When did you submit your application? More than 3 weeks ago?

I submitted my application a few seconds after 1st Jan so I guess it has only been a week. I’m rather confused that the status page says that they have received my supplement and Common application but not the letters as these letters wear a part of the Common application.

With 35,000 students submitting applications, along with letters of recommendations and supplemental materials, it takes the file room time to scan each piece of paper and match them to the correct student’s electronic file. If your letters are still not appearing by January 16th, I would call the Admissions Office. Until then, give it time.
I have the same problem as lanternkid, only I submitted mine back in October…

^^ As you submitted your application in October, they should have it by now. Occasionally the office does misplace items. If it’s not too expensive to phone from Australia, I would call them. If not, email the Admissions Office and see what they say.

^Ok, I should be able to give the office a call in the next day or so.
