help!!!!! LOST MY W-2'S!!!!

and the colleges are requesting them now.

employer doesn't have them and IRS will have them only in june!

what do i do!!!!

will just my tax returns suffice?

HELP!!!

Your employer should be able to get you a copy. Do you have your last paystub from 2008? It will have all the same info.

employer doesn’t have copies for some reason and don’t have any paystubs…

is there any other option?

will colleges be able to give me aid without the W-2 forms…parents have already filed tax and i have the returns…can’t i just give those in and let them use those?

No not really, if they specifically asked for W-2’s there is a reason they want them. They want to see if what is on the w-2s match what is on the 1040 forms.

By law employers must keep records for at least 3 years, if not longer.
There is a form to fill out to request copies of w-2s that were sent in with filing, you can get it off the IRS site. Here is the website, your/your parents employer MUST supply a new W-2 within 10 days of requesting it, or face penalties.

[W-2 - Additional, Incorrect, Lost, Non-receipt, Omitted](http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq/0,,id=199593,00.html)

W-2’s are needed for verification. They can give you aid, subject to verification prior to enrollment. It really depends on the school’s policy whether they will or will not.
