When I applied to MSU I thought the Fisheries and Wildlife was the major that I wanted- But now as I research it more, I would like to get a BA in Biology instead. I understand this is easily changed but there's one tricky problem

I am attending the Distinguished Scholarship program and it is geared towards the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. This paper is due on the 12th and I'm not sure if I should even start- due to my intended switch in majors. Will I still be able to keep the scholarship? Will I write the paper and have it mean nothing?

I'm not sure what you should do but, I would contact the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, if I were you. If you do not have the number, I can provide it for you. :)

Quincy might know more about this, than me. (I attend MSU, but I am not familiar with that scholarship and particular college).

Quincy to the rescue: while I'm not familiar w/ your particular scholarship, DannonWater, the dept of Fisheries and Wildlife is IN the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, so there shouldn't be a problem..

Thanks Quincy, but that's not my problem. I wish to change my major from Fisheries and Wildlife to Biology, which is not part of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Smurfette- if you could PM me with that number I would appreciate it a lot.

Sorry, my bad DannonWater, you clearly said you wanted to major in biology (I should have read your Q more closely), which may or may not be outside the CANR (some bio programs are shared/run jointly with the Natural Sciences—that might get you around this, but I’m only guessing)... Obviously, I'm the wrong person to ask w/ such direct Qs about scholarships; instead you should probably contact Admissions & Scholarships tomorrow a.m.; they'd have the correct answer. I'm not quite sure of the "paper" to which you refer (a paper applying for the scholarship itself?), although I'm sure they could help you at the Admissions office.
