So, I really need help on figuring out whether I should be an advertising or a marketing major at UF. I eventually want to have a career in fashion when I graduate...Are there any advertising or marketing majors on here that can give me insight on what I should expect going into the major? What the major differences between the majors are (except for the fact that marketing is more math oriented). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also, job opportunities in advertising vs. marketing?

All I know is that advertising requires more creativity and marketing is the business-oriented aspect. Have you read through their descriptions in the [Office of the University Registrar](http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/catalog/programs/majors/advert.html)? Also, here’s a helpful link.

My daughter started out as a marketing major and changed to an advertising major after Freshman year. She just wasn’t loving the classes in the business school and Intro to Marketing convinced her that it wasn’t for her. She loves advertising. She loves the creative stuff. I am not sure about the market these days for jobs in advertising though. She is going into her senior year and does not know if she will be able to find a job next year doing what she wants or if she wants to go right to graduate school.
