help match me?

Florida male,
Communications or Media Studies major.

I'm not happy with my current list and am looking for a school in the northeast, midwest, or in the west/pacific coast, with a good communications program, that will accept fairly average students. I love the smaller, LACs, but being a communications major makes it hard to be picky.

3.4 unweighted, 3.7 weighted. Will go up as I am grade-forgiving a D I got in 9th (grade forgiveness replaces the old grade with the new grade), and so far have a 4.0 for senior year. If I get all A's this year, and I grade-forgive at an A, I can graduate with a weighted 4.0 GPA.

SAT (pretty low.. blah)
r 580 m 530 w 670.
I took subject tests two weeks ago.

AP english language (2).
AP us history (3).
AP english literature next semester.

The only other AP offered at my school are music theory, biology, art, and world history which couldn't fit me into the class somehow.

Honors english 1-3.
Honors us history.
Honors american government.
Honors economics.

EC's:
Drama club 10th-12th, inducted into International Thespian Society at the end of 10th, awarded breakthrough performance, most improved performance, and the show award for "Lend Me a Tenor," (which is like winning album of the year at the Grammys), on track to letter this year.
Chorus 11th-12th, chamber choir 11th-12th, show choir called Breeze 11th-12th, awarded outstanding new member award, lettered in 11th, on track to letter again this year. Member of Tri-M.
Inducted into National Honor Society at the end of 10th.

Recs from AP english teacher and choral director.

Applied to Northwestern (forced by parents)
Boston U
Ithaca College
Marist College
Northeastern
York U (in Toronto)
Penn State

What do you guys think?

You have an average/low SAT score for a majority of those schools.. but GPA wise its good..

Northwestern - Reach
BU - Reach (friend with good stats got rejected ED)
Ithaca College - Reach
Marist - Match/Reach
Northeastern - Slight Reach/Reach
York Univ - Dunno never heard of it
Penn State - Reach if its University Park

You see the problem? I'm not comfortable with my list at all.

Here are some other schools that you may want to take a look at: Quinnipiac, Hofstra, DePaul, Fairfield, Towson, SUNY Purchase and Drexel. I would agree with Jim that your best bet on this list is Marist. Hope these help. Good luck!

my opinion: there's a real good chance you'll get into marist

I forgot to mention to keep me away from Jesuit universities. I'm not against religion or anything, but I don't want it to be a part of my education in any way.

Interesting. You are the only student on these forums I have seen so far with grades and scores as relatively low as mine...

I've noticed that trend too. It's very disheartening.
