HELP! Math IIC

I am planning to take Math IIC soon.

I bought a barron IIC book, and I am going through the book.

I am actually having a hard time solving those problems, especially ch.3. Would ~2 months be enough time to prepare? Is Barron accurate? Should I get another book?

I am frustrated because i am usually good at math, 800 on sat I math and 5 on AP CAlc, and i am struggling on IIC. Is it just me or those who get 800 IIC smart & hardworking?

Barron's massively overprepares you, although it is very helpful. Doing well means a lot of time management on this test, however.

Exactly what kman said, do not worry about Barron's practice exams. They are WAY difficult compared to the real thing. If you are scoring 30/50 on Barrons, I would say you have a good chance at getting 800. Hope this alleviates your frustration.

after preparing with barrons, you should take the official iic test to see how you will really score. i think 30/50 is a stretch though, try for 35-40/50.

Alright thx guys. I ll rock this Barron book and shoot for 800 =)

the barrons 2c book is extreemmely hard compared to the actual thing. i got a kaplan book as well and found the tests were a lot more like the real thing, but it doesnt go as in depth. however for the subject test you dont really need to be that in depth. i only got a 630 on my SAT math section, but then after a month and a half of prep using those books i got a 700 on the math 2c.. so try not to worry too much

yeah I got pwned by Barron's but 800 on real thing.

To be honest, forget about Barron's. It's too unrealistic and nothing like the real test. It'll just stress you out and make you MORE nervous on the real thing and make you perform horribly. I have friends who used Barron's and just ended up having nervous breakdowns the day before and they didn't do that well on the actual test. I started doing Barron's and realized how crappy the book was. The best prep for Math 2c, in my opinion, are the online Sparknotes Math 2c tests. They were JUST like the real one. I started prepping for Math 2c about 5 days before the actual test, and I ended up getting a 790 on it. I'm sure with 2 months of prep with sparknotes online, you can def get an 800. Oh and by the way, the actual test is much easier than anything you imagine. Or so I thought. I got 720's to 730's on all my practice Sparknotes tests. And somehow got a 790 on the real thing. So don't worry, just stay chill and relaxed during the test and you'll be fine. Just make sure you time yourself well for the test, because time is what *****s people over more than anything on the 2c.

^ I actually liked Barron's for that reason. I got nervous and so I prepared even more and as it turned out, I was more than ready to take the test.

Yo guyz what abt SAT sucess. My mom bought the book and I have to use it. The problem is that plan to get nothing less than a 760 and I dont know if the book will be helpful.

ANyone have any SAT II Real MATH IIC Tests?

Get the official collegeboard book for Math if you want 2 real match 2 tests. They're a LOOOOOOOOOT easier than Barron's tests. haha

im takin math 2 also in two months, i think you should use barrons cuz i know alot of kids who were successful by using it!
