Help me about some Grammar Questions

I'm not a native English speaker. The following are some questions on the Writing Section of SAT.

1) While many people (believe) that television commercials are quite harmful to children, (others) contend that (such) advertising has very little (or no) negative effect. (No Error)

The answer says this sentence contains no error, but I think (or no) is redundant. Our English teacher said that "little" or "very little" already conveyed a sense of "no". Also he said that "a little" can convey different meanings from "little", since "a little" emphasis "there ARE something although not many".
Can you give me some explanations?

2) In 1961 Rita Moreno (gained fame) and (won) an Academy Award (for her portraying) Anita in the film (adaptation of) the groundbreaking Broadway musical "West Slide Story"

(For her portraying) is wrong. Why? How can I correct that?

3) Spotting Kim and (I) looking at the giant pandas, Brianna (carefully) maneuvered through the crowd and squeezed (between us) to get a look (at them) herself.

(I) is wrong. Maybe it should be changed into "me"? The original meaning of sentence can be "Brianna spots Kim and me" and "Kim and I look at giant pandas". How can I decided whether the preposition should be used as "I" or "me"?

Thanks a lot.

1) I don’t think it’s redundant; very little effect means that there’s still some form of effect.
2) It should be “for her portrayal of.”
3) Just get rid of the “Kim and” part and think about what sounds better: Brianna spots I or Brianna spots me. Another way is thinking about who’s receiving the action. It’s “I” if the person is committing the action and “me” when someone’s receiving the action.

That make sense. Thanks.
