Help me choose a college: NYIT, Stony Brook, Adelphi, St Johns

I am seeking to pursue my undergrad in Biology and eventually go on to med school. I was accepted to various colleges (LIU, Pace, Hofstra) but I am most interested in these 4.

I know Stony Brook is a school famous for STEM related majors, however I also heard that it is very difficult! I am definitely NOT looking for a school that will hand out As and turn a blind eye to students cheating. That is not what I am looking for. But I want a school that is reasonable on the workload and won’t be insanely difficult to achieve good grades in.

Cost is not a factor as with scholarships, they’re all approximately the same cost.

Honestly, does not matter where you go. For medical school, the GPA is more important instead of the name on the school. Go where you believe in your heart you will perform best. Remember you’ll be taking organic chem, physics, etc. for medical school, so go where you believe you can succeed.

Pick a school that will give you good options if med-school doesn’t end up working out. Then you’re covered either way.

@bakhlava Did you apply for/get accepted into any joint degree programs at Adelphi? There’s 3 different ones for medicine. I know several people who are in them and as long as you keep your grades up at Adelphi, you would be able to go to med school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, or New York Institute of Technology. I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t have to take the MCAT if you were in the program, or something like that. I’m not in these programs so I don’t know the full details, but they’re worth checking out if you’re interested. Here’s the link: http://prepare.adelphi.edu/professional/
