Hi, I'm in the difficult dilemma of choosing a graduate program. My major is mass communication and I maily focus on the following universities:

BU (communication studies program of the communication college)
Gtown (CCT program)
Syracuse ( media studies of Newhouse)
USC (global communication, joint program of LSE and USC )

Personally, I'm inclined to go to BU because its reputation in the communication field is pretty good. Gtown is indeed a wodnerful university but the CCT program is not very famous and it focuses on theoretical studies. Syracuse's newhouse is also attractive but I'm afraid it will be boring to study in that small city. As for USC, I'm so worried about its safety...

I want to hear suggestions or ideas from you guys. Thanks for help!

Ha, yes, I think I like BU more than other universities. But I’m not quite sure about my opinion. I’m an international student so I’m not familiar with the prestige of these universities in the nation and I can’t visit them by myself. That’s why I ask for your advice~

You should ask this in the Grad School Forum. Go to the main page where all of the forums are listed, and then scroll down.

Prestige in the US doesn’t matter for you. You need to attend the program that is most likely to get you a job in your home country after you graduate.

Thank you! I will ask my question in the Grad School Forum. I plan to work in the US for one or two years before coming back to my own country, so prestige is important I think~
