Help me choose my big reach!

Hey, so I recently got into Wisconsin (it was like half way between a safety and a match). So now, since that cut a few schools from my list, I want to apply to one big reach school.
I was thinking WUSTL, Williams, Cornell (maybe ILR) Northwestern, Brown or Dartmouth.
I want to apply as an English/psychology major, and neither location nor size will play a drastic role in my decision.
So which of these 6 would you guys say is the "easiest" to get into, and which is best for my perspective major.
Note: just for reference, the schools I'm applying to now are like Hopkins, Rice, Gtown, Wake, Emory, Michigan.

I would say in terms of Selectivity:
Brown/Dartmouth
Williams

GAP

Northwestern
Cornell ILR/ WashU

BUT I would also say that is the order of school I would want to attend.

Interestingly, Northwestern Cornell ILR/ WashU are probably close as far as admissions selectivity with Georgetown, Rice, Michigan, and Hopkins… so if you’re going for a super-reach I’d look at the 3 top ones admitone suggested.

Well, Brown has a lot of things going for it - particularly it’s rated by a few sources as the school with some of the happiest undergraduates, as well as its awesome Open Curriculum. It’s also the second-most selective school you listed (Dartmouth has a 13.5% acceptance rate and Brown has a 13.7% so there’s a minuscule difference). Just out of my personal preference, I would apply to Brown over Dartmouth. But why not both? Sure, it’s an extra $70 but if you make it into one and not the other, will it really make much of a difference to you?

As for the rest of your schools, WashingtonU and Northwestern are both pretty great schools that are a bit more attainable than Brown or Dartmouth. If you’re asking which of your schools is “easiest” to get in to, statistically it’s Northwestern with a 26.7% acceptance rate. If you’re asking which of your schools is best for English or psychology, pretty much all of these are top-tier schools and you’ll get a great education from all of them, especially for liberal arts.

Have you visited any of these schools? If not, have you at least looked at their online virtual tours?

Since you didn’t list any stats, I assume that you have excellent stats and ECs :)

so…big reach…
Brown (if you like their curriculum style)
Cornell
Dartmouth
Princeton (I know it’s not on your list).
